Personal Safety >

At Enviro Tech, we believe very strongly that personal safety is an important consideration in using our EnSolv solvents.

We have commissioned extensive testing of safety gloves so that our customers may make safe determinations for their workers based upon anticipated exposures.

Enviro Tech has also conducted studies to determine how to achieve safe exposure levels to EnSolv in the workplace. At Enviro Tech, we believe that the key to using our EnSolv solvents safely lies in the use of good work practices and education. Our team of technical experts is available as a resource to provide safety recommendations and answer questions.

Workplace Exposure
In a study of workplace exposure levels to EnSolv in vapor degreasing applications at 25 different locations, it was found that the average worker exposure level was 6 ppm by 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA). Vapor degreasing equipment in the study ranged from open-top non-NESHAP compliant equipment to Closed Loop systems. The highest reported exposure level was 23 ppm and the lowest was 0 ppm. Analyses were performed using the ToxiRAE Plus PID meter manufactured by RAE Systems and calibrated for n-Propyl Bromide.

The ToxiRAE Plus PID meters are available for loan from Enviro Tech to our customers for on-site monitoring of workplace exposure levels. Please contact us for more details.

Safety Gloves
Selecting the proper glove for handling chemicals depends upon several factors. The following table has been constructed to help you determine the best glove for handling EnSolv, based upon the expected duration of exposure to EnSolv. This listing is intended to assist in the determination of which glove is most appropriate for your process

Test data using ASTM F-1383 with an intermittent contact exposure yielded results approximately twice as long before breakthrough. "X" indicates that the glove meets the ASTM F-739 test criteria for the period of time indicated.
